Book now for IOP Physics Hub-99 on Thursday 25 April at 7pm online. Theme: Biophysics.

Our guest is Jennifer Gaughran and she will look at the role physics plays in the human body. Jennifer will show how physics accounts for the pressure required to pump blood around the body, and why we feel faint at high altitudes and how we metabolise energy. She will look at some of the physical mechanisms at play in the body and how we can use these mechanisms to represent real-world examples of physics concepts. With Health as a cross-cutting theme in the NCCA draft specification for LC Physics, it is likely that physics relating to the human body will feature more in the future.
