Junior Science Quiz
Fifty eight Junior Cert Science teams and their teachers turned up on May 7th at the Mount Errigal hotel Letterkenny for a most enjoyable evening of revision. Teams from from all over the County were represented with a total of 232 students in attendance.
Congratulations to first time winners PCC Falcarragh and to runners up AVS Donegal Town and Loreto Letterkenny.
It was great to see so many schools represented and most people agreed it was a well organised event. Thanks to the hotel team for the last minute adjustments.
A big thank you to our NEW Donegal ISTA committee of Rachel McGuinness from Moville and Christopher Hegarty from the AVS in Donegal Town. They are fantastic teachers and ambassadors for Science. Donegal ISTA is in good hands.
That’s our last event for this year but we hope to bring you even more, new and exciting events and initiatives next year. Our "Science it’s a girl thing" proved successful if controversial amongst the boys and I hope all of the schools who received a goody pack both in Donegal and Sligo will use them wisely. The initiative reached over 30 schools and over 1000 senior cycle students.
Ideas for next years theme are welcome, just e mail daviddoherty@donegaletb.ie directly and I will bring your ideas to committee.
Until next term Good Luck and enjoy your break.
David Doherty (ISTA Donegal Chairperson)
