DNA Day – Essay & Video Competition for Students

Entries are now being accepted for the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) DNA Day competition. DNA Day takes place on April 25 each year and is commemorated internationally as a celebration of genetics and its promises. The ESHG is calling on Irish science students to participate in their DNA Day competition. Students are tasked with tackling the topic below and writing an original 750 word essay or a 5 minute video.

Please, discuss the importance of understanding genetic diversity for health and disease. Support your example with specific DNA variants and genes.
