FREE School Visits by local engineers

Every year Engineers Ireland’s STEPS team arranges hundreds of free school visits, linking up volunteer engineers with local schools all over Ireland.

Engineers visit students in their own classroom to talk about careers in ICT and engineering, what it’s like to study at third level, and the day-to-day work of engineers.

The STEPS team makes all the arrangements – the visit can be scheduled to last for one class period, at a time and date that suits the teacher and the students. Visits can be scheduled throughout the academic year. The volunteer engineers come equipped with an engaging presentation suitable for Junior Cycle or Senior Cycle students, and the STEPS team oversees the visit and provides all necessary information and guidance to the volunteer.

Teachers, register for a Smart Futures visit now and we will do our best to match your school with an engineer in your area.
