National Biodiversity Week 2013

National Biodiversity Week will take place this year from Saturday 18^th May to Sunday 26^th May, with the UN International Day of Biodiversity being celebrated on 22^nd May. This year the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has designated a theme of Water & Biodiversity for 2013.

This will be Ireland’s 7^th annual celebration of National Biodiversity week and its aim is to create awareness of the importance of biodiversity and to better understand its value to the local, national and international community.

Events will take place nationwide in a range of locations across Ireland and details can be found on the events page of this website. Everyone is invited and encouraged to take part.
