PharmaChemical Ireland Science Educator of the Year Award 2012

Sincere thanks to PharmaChemical Ireland for their generous sponsorship of the ISTA Science Educator of the Year Awards. This year’s recipient, Mary Mullaghy, was presented with a specially commissioned glass trophy by Dr Oliver Ryan, who set up the awards in 1984, for outstanding voluntary contribution to the Association over many years.

 

PharmaChemical Ireland also sponsor annual ISTA Science Teacher Awards which are presented at the Annual ISTA Conference. The 2013 Conference will take place in Gorey from 12th -14th April, and some high profile speakers include nobel laureate, Prof Jocelyn Bell Burnell and Alom Shaha – more details will be announced in the coming months.
The annual ISTA Senior Science Quiz Final which takes place in Trinity College is also sponsored by PharmaChemical Ireland . The 20th quiz final will be on the last Saturday of November 24th. The Regional Finals will take place nationwide on the Thursday 15th November during Science Week. Full details of how to enter will be posted on the website in the coming weeks.

Physics High Flyers

As part of the 2012 Dublin City of Science Festival, the Institute of Physics in Ireland(IOPI) are proud to announce that they will be hosting a ‘Physics High Flyers’ event on Saturday May 5th in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, 123 St Stephens Green, Dublin 2.
